Invented in 1994 by Ericsson, Bluetooth is a transmission technology used to transmit data over a short distance. the success of the technology is such that there are over two billion Bluetooth enabled devices for sale worldwide, with eight new products launched every day. modern mobile phones are ready to send and receive data via Bluetooth, mainly to allow wireless communication headsets and other assistive devices, however it is also possible to send and receive messages via bluetooth. when used for the purpose of spreading a marketing message, this is known as "Bluecasting."
